World´s best sand sculptures come to CA
If you're into sand sculptures, San Diego is the 1place to be, and the end of August is the time to be there.

The nation's eighth largest city will be taken over by the the artists who create sand sculptures from August 29 through Sept. 1, 2014 as part of the US Sand Sculpting Challenge.

The organizers are bringing in 300 tons of sand to the B Street cruise ship terminal pier. There, sand sculptors will show off their work in what the organizers are calling the most creative atmosphere in the world.

World Master sand sculptors are expected to come from Ireland, Italy, Singapore, Canada, the Netherlands and other places including the U.S. The sculptures are a sight to behold -- they weigh over 10 tons each. There aso will be more than 1,000 works of art that you'll be able to buy and take home.

The event will also have live music with bands, singers and other acts. There will be a sand box and rides for the kids as well as gourmet food trucks, tall ships and great views of San Diego Bay.

The cruise ship terminal is at 1140 North Harbor Drive, San Diego. For more information, go to
