Tall ships festival to offer rides, food, music
In late August, Los Angeles will be the  1scene of a dramatic display of tall ships as part of the Tall Ships Festival L.A. 2014.

The event is being held August 20-24 and these vessels will be sailing in from all over the Pacific, offering visitors a rare chance to step aboard and even sail on these classic ships. Also, the historic Battleship USS Iowa and the Victory Ship, S.S. Lane Victory, will be included when you buy a festival ticket.

Visitors will see domestic and international ships, including some of the most acclaimed ships worldwide. A Multi-Day On Board Ship Tour Pass can be purchased for $19. With the pass you'll have five-day access to the festival grounds and numerous activities.

The Schooner Freda B, Schooner Curlew and several other vessels will sail several times daily beginning Thursday, August 21, taking passengers on a memorable tall ship daytrip. Cost for each ticket is $85.

Guests can also buy a ticket to sail into the Port of Los Angeles past Angelís Gate Lighthouse and into the LA Harbor aboard a Tall Ship for $150 as part of their grand entrance at the beginning of the event.

A Single-Day Dockside Viewing Festival Pass costs just $7 and is free to children 1-4 years old. Dockside passes also let you attend educational workshops, enjoy festival entertainment and have access to the festival grounds.

Music at the festival will include rock, jazz, Sea Shanty, Big Band, Country, Latin, Mexican, and dance. Food will be provided by L.A.ís regional food trucks and there will be California wine tasting and a full craft brew menu featuring the regionís best brewers.
