La Quinta Resort upgrading property this summerThe La Quinta Resort & Club near Palm Springs is undergoing a transformation this summer as it spruces up the resort's villas, casitas, spa suites and pool area and improves the already-extensive landscaping.
Big shot Bay-area businessman Walter Morgan chose to build his La Quinta resort basically where the early Spaniards had built their base of operations back in the day. The city of La Quinta actually was named after the resort.
The area Morgan chose for the resort is in the foothills of the Santa Rosa Mountains near Palm Springs. The resort is a popular enclave today for the rich, the nearly rich and the wannbe rich who come to see how the other half is living. The resort is so big it needs a road map to navigate.
New amenities are being added as well. New amenities will include big flat-screen TVs, Keurig coffee makers and mini fridges. There is new outdoor furniture planned for the casita patios.
La Quinta Resort plans to remain open while the improvements are under way.
