Disneyland
It costs more to visit Happiest Place on Earth
Prices are up at the Happiest Place on Earth -- Disneyland 1 has increased prices by $4, about the same as previous increases that generally happen about once a year.

It now costs $96 to visit either Disneyland or Disney California Adventure Park for one day if you are 10 years old or older. If you are keeping track, single-day ticket prices have more than doubled since 2003.

The price of an annual pass also was increased as part of this rate hike and is now priced at $699. There is no discount for locals on the Disneyland annual pass. If you do the math, someone would need to visit Disneyland eight times a year to make the annual pass a better price than simply buying one-day tickets.

You can save money if you only go on weekdays -- which can be much less crowded and in many respects is the best time to go. The price for the annual SoCal Select Pass (weekdays) is $289, which is about the same as buying three one-day passes.

Disneyland California is located in Anaheim, about a half hour's freeway drive southeast of downtown Los Angeles. It's the original theme park, conceived by Walt Disney and opened in 1955. The park offers rides and attraction for visitors of all ages and has been steadily adding new attractions since it began. A Disney vacation is at the top of the list for many youngsters.
